Average & Kayo

Average and Kayo, two established figures in the Austrian rap scene, will join forces for the first time in 2026 to release a collaborative album that is already being touted as one of the most exciting projects of the year. The Linz-based Average has established himself as a defining voice in the local hip-hop scene with mixtapes, EPs, and numerous collaborations. Kayo has been a central figure in the scene since the 1990s—both as a solo artist and as a member of Markante Handlungen—and has significantly contributed to its formation and development. Both are also part of the collective TTR Allstars.

Together, they are creating an album that oscillates between classic boom bap and contemporary productions. With support from a who's who of the scene, a versatile work is emerging that appeals to die-hard hip-hop fans as well as listeners of current trends. The content of the release moves between personal stories and pointed battle rap.
