Bluatschink - Do you speak German?

When you launch a music project more than 30 years ago, name it after a mythical creature, and then sing in your very own Lechtal dialect – it’s clear that "language" has been a theme from the very beginning. "Why are they singing in Chinese?" could occasionally be heard when their songs played on the radio far from their Lechtal homeland. However, live performances have always been different: Because language artist Toni Knittel has helped everyone "get the hang of it" with his banter between songs – making even extreme dialect wordplay like "Knoumahpatamadu" understandable for all.

By now, it has become known that these evenings featuring the duo of the married couple Margit & Toni Knittel guarantee a serious case of laughter. Over the past 30 years, the theme of "dialects, Denglish, and other confusions" has already been woven into many songs that simply needed to be pulled out of the mothballs. But it wouldn’t be BLUATSCHINK if there weren’t also entirely new "treats" being prepared in the Lechtal language play kitchen.

It’s hard to imagine that contemplating topics like "grammar," "Middle High German," and "Knittelhochdeutsch" could unleash fits of laughter – but Bluatschink is proof that it’s possible. Because when the banter between the songs lasts longer than the song itself, it’s probably BLUATSCHINK on stage. New songs and old hits – that’s when the "Funka fliaga"!
