From June 12 to 14, the Sargfabrik will once again open its enchanting rooftop garden for the Sargfabrik Rooftop Festival. This year, we have given the wonderful Golnar Shahyar a carte blanche. For three days, she invites fellow musicians to come together and make music under the starry sky.

The first evening, featuring Mahan Mirarab and Amir Wahba, is themed: Songs of Protest & Kindness. The Golnar & Mahan Trio is a genre-crossing ensemble that blends Persian musical traditions with contemporary jazz, improvisation, and global influences. Led by singer and composer Golnar Shahyar, along with guitarist Mahan Mirarab and percussionist Amir Wahba, the trio creates a unique soundscape where complex rhythms, rich harmonies, and poetic storytelling merge. Their music is deeply rooted in emotional expression and addresses themes of identity, migration, and human connection. With a distinctive approach to composition and improvisation, the Golnar & Mahan Trio pushes musical boundaries and offers a powerful, captivating listening experience.
