A Course for the Curious, Nature Lovers, and Connoisseurs Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of honey bees! In this varied course, you will gain exciting insights into the life of a bee colony and learn why these little pollinators are so essential for our environment. Theory – Knowledge about the Honey Bee
• The life and organization of a bee colony
• Important pests and challenges in modern beekeeping
• Basic knowledge of beekeeping
• Products from the beehive and their special features Practice – Working with a Living Bee Colony (weather permitting)
In the practical session, you will have the chance to be active yourself:
• We will open a bee colony and examine the honeycombs up close
• You will see the different developmental stages – from egg to larva to capped brood
• With a bit of luck, we might even observe a bee emerging
• Together, we will look for the queen – perhaps she will show herself to us
• We will observe drones, which can be handled due to their lack of a stinger
• Depending on the season, we will check honeycombs: How much nectar has been collected? Has it already ripened into honey? A taste directly from the comb is possible Tasting – Sweet Variety from the Beehive
To conclude, a delightful highlight awaits: the tasting of our high-quality organic products. Included are:
