In the intimate atmosphere of the chapel at Ebergassing Castle, Haydn's monumental oratorio "The Creation" is presented in a surprisingly chamber music style. Anton Wranitzky, a contemporary of Joseph Haydn, arranged the work for string quintet. Where usually the choir and orchestra overwhelm, here the five string players of the Pandolfis Consort Vienna unfold a touching transparency and unusual sonic intimacy. The actor Julian Loidl will underscore the narrative with his recitations.
