Nick Steed, influenced by his father and his record collection, began playing the keyboard at the age of 7. By the time he was 11, he was entertaining guests at his parents' pub with his playing and joined a local blues band in his hometown of Stockport at the age of 15. Over the following years, he played in various band projects and also became heavily involved in studio work, which eventually paid off, allowing him to perform over 300 gigs a year.

Starting in 2013, he performed with his own blues band, a quartet that included Paul Burgess on drums, who had achieved some success with 10CC. During one of the performances, he was seen by Norman Beaker, who subsequently offered him a job in his band, which went on tour with well-known figures such as American blues legend Larry Garner and Chris Farlowe. In the meantime, the members of the legendary prog-jazz-rock band Colosseum also took notice of Nick, ultimately landing him the job as the keyboardist for this great band, with whom he continues to tour regularly and is currently working on a new album.

Additionally, Nick is still involved in various other projects, whether with his jazz fusion band Optimystic Visionaries, his power blues trio, or as a solo artist. As a solo artist, he released his solo album "Influential Guidance" in 2023, which received great acclaim in the music press, and he performs many of its songs with his trio. On tour, Nick is accompanied by his compatriot Steve Gibson on drums, who is currently signed to Polydor and A&M Records and has worked with notable artists such as Jack Bruce, Chris Farlowe, and Van Morrison. The guitarist is Sebastian Lorenz, who was born in Austria and now lives in Los Angeles, and who has already played with renowned artists such as John Lee Hooker Jr., Creed Bratton (The Office), Jamie Jones (All-4-One), Elliot Easton (The Cars), Katey Sagal, Jennifer Warnes, Dean Parks, and others in his young career.
