Over the last centuries, the findings in Klosterneuburg have been well preserved thanks to the Catholic Church. In 1580, the Catholic Church sealed off the entrances to this underworld. Since its inception, the approximately 4.2-hectare underground city of Nivenburg beneath Klosterneuburg has been used by many cultures and civilizations, including the Templars and their successors. Historical documents from various archives, as well as archaeological findings, confirm that the clergy and nobility were aware of what are now only half-forgotten legends up until about 450 years ago. Time capsules from different periods have now provided us with far-reaching insights into a tumultuous past. Some works related to this have already been published and are offered as part of the book sale.
