JAZZ SUMMER BADEN 2026 - Trotting Track/ROTUNDE, STANTON BIG BAND

Big band with 16 musicians (5 saxophones, 4 trumpets, 3 trombones, piano, guitar, bass, drums), our repertoire is very large (the band has been around for over 50 years!), with a focus on classic pieces by Count Basie and Duke Ellington, but of course also Lionel Hampton, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, and others.

We write (almost) all the arrangements ourselves; it is important to us that all (!) musicians also play solos, that the arrangements remain open to spontaneous ideas, and that the music is played with passion and wildness (earthy, bluesy!).

The band has performed numerous concerts at home and abroad (over 300 nights alone in Vienna's Jazzland), with absolute top stars of jazz such as Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis, Harry "Sweets" Edison, Joe Newman, Doc Cheatham, George Masso, Jim Galloway, Warren Vache, Harry Allen, Bill Berry, Karl Ratzer, Ines Reiger, Oskar Klein, and many others.

Highlights in the band's history include tours to Munich, participation in the ORF Big Band Contest, the Big Band Battle with the Swingtime Big Band, the concert at the Vienna Concert Hall with Lionel Hampton, and numerous record recordings.
