An event as part of POSITIONEN · Theater der Gegenwart – Music Performance
Sooner or later, it had to happen: Jelena Popržan's solo program. About 10 years ago, she began making her mark on Vienna's stages with the duo Catch-Pop String-Strong, and with Madame Baheux and Sormeh, she solidified her reputation as an inventive arranger, expressive vocal artist, and entertainer with comedic talent and political engagement. Wherever one might want to place her stylistically: New & Old Music, World, Singer-Songwriting, Cabaret, New Viennese Song, Folk, Jazz, or whatever else, Popržan draws the nectar from all these genres and lets her unique blend ferment. An entertaining revue can be expected, featuring songs, compositions, and sounds. Homages to forgotten traditions and unforgettable new creations!
