During the Christmas season, Wöhrsee transforms into a beautifully illuminated natural spectacle. Over 350 "Liachterl" in charming wooden lanterns, scattered around the lake, create a cozy atmosphere at the foot of the world's longest castle. The Liachterl path begins on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at 4:30 PM. You can enjoy the unique ambiance and discover the festive stations along the way during a reflective walk around the lake. The winter stroll around Wöhrsee concludes on the meadow of the Wöhrsee swimming area, where you can indulge in warm beverages and small delicacies. The Liachterl will already be lit on Friday, November 27, 2026, starting at 4:30 PM. Even without the stations and refreshments, you can stroll along the enchanting path around Wöhrsee.

Parking and Shuttle: For a relaxed visit, we recommend parking at the exhibition hall. The free city bus will take you from there to the old town to the Liachterl path and the Advent in the Grüben at the usual times every 30 minutes on Saturday. The last departure from the town square is at 10:58 PM on Friday and Saturday. On Fridays, the bus operates every 30 minutes at regular ticket prices.
