Thematic tour "Altötting's Strong Women"

Altötting would not be the same without its strong women. It all begins with Maria, whose image is at the heart of the city. But many other women have also shaped Altötting. Maria Ward fought for girls' education and women's freedom as early as the 16th century – her vision continues to live on in the schools of the city. Maria Anna of Palatinate-Sulzbach and Maria Anna of Saxony advocated for Bavaria's independence and are immortalized in the Chapel of Grace. Dr. Maria Eder dedicated her life to helping those in need in Zimbabwe and was made an honorary citizen of Altötting. These and many other impressive women are at the center of the city tour.
