In addition, we focus on artists who have a special relationship with Linz and the Lentos, such as VALIE EXPORT and Herbert Bayer. Art history is not static; on the contrary, the canon is continually being rewritten, leading to ongoing reassessments and rediscoveries. Thus, the museum becomes an instrument for experiencing and understanding art history and leads to the temporary exhibitions that primarily focus on contemporary art. The reorganization of the collection was gradually carried out in 2018 by museum director Hemma Schmutz together with her team.
