St. Florianer Bruckner Days: Jazz Concert with Severin Trogbacher

Severin Trogbacher continues where he left off and Anton Bruckner began.
Since 2021, the composer and musician from St. Florian has been dedicating himself to a very personal "filtering process" of the musical essence from Bruckner's symphonies. He creates his own sound mosaics from thematic, harmonic, and rhythmic building blocks that characterize Bruckner's monumental instrumental works, moving stylistically across the full spectrum between elegant jazz and urgent metal. After elements from symphonies IV to IX premiered under the jazzy "funnel" of the composer titled "Discovery" at the Bruckner Days 2023, Trogbacher is this year completing the work with the earlier symphonies of Bruckner, so that it will be heard in its entirety in 2026. The guitarist, known to a wider audience as a long-time collaborator of Hubert von Goisern, fully trusts the musical qualities of his jazz trio with Peter Schönbauer (bass) and Herbert Pirker (drums), to which he again adds a classical chamber ensemble.
An evening that promises both familiar and surprising moments for ears accustomed to Bruckner, as well as for newcomers to the subject, and definitely for music enthusiasts.
