Alois Mühlbacher, Alto
Matthias Giesen, Piano

At the duo evening "Rendezvous of Two Voices" – one might also say great voices – the soprano Regina Riel and the countertenor Alois Mühlbacher come together with a program of Romantic music. While the song as a solo genre enjoys great popularity with many well-known pieces, the repertoire for two voices with piano accompaniment tends to be overshadowed by it, even though it stands on its own merit. The extensive repertoire spans from Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and his sister Fanny Hensel to Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms, all the way to Max Reger and the Viennese composer Robert Fuchs. A contrast is provided by the world premiere of the Conversation between Fashion and Death by Matthias Giesen.
