Seven Plums
With their new album "Seven Plums," the Viennese song duo Die Strottern and the collective JazzWerkstatt Wien once again merge into a congenial Viennese workshop. "Seven Plums" is an invitation to subtle nuances, to thoughtful grooving, and passionate wonder about the state of the world. Intelligent humor meets delightful playfulness, and the unbearable lightness of being dances a clumsy waltz with complex song structures. The recordings reveal how much these nine people enjoy each other's company and how much joy they find in making music together. They love it – and so do we. The fundamental rule of this art is equality, where everyone can shine in their own way, but no one has to play the fool in the spotlight. And when someone has nothing to do, it seems as if you can hear the smile of the one taking a break.
