To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this play, the Neue Bühne Wien presents the magnificent debut success of Felix Mitterer, which catapulted him into the forefront of Austrian writers - a piece of undiminished relevance for the whole family.

Content: Sebastian receives the attention, affection, and loving, supportive understanding from a lonely retiree that his parents and the village community deny him. Under his patient care, the boy develops abilities that had lain dormant due to the brutal disregard for his perceived inferiority. He learns to speak, do arithmetic, and play the flute. However, when the boy, in his naivety, one day marvels at the difference of the female gender while observing a bathing girl, the village community brands him a potential moral offender. The quiet happiness of the two societal outsiders is in jeopardy.
