Guitar Festival Millstatt 2026 - Moving Strings

MOVING STRINGS The Carinthian guitarist Julia Malischnig combines music, body, and movement in her ensemble Moving Strings to create a fascinating overall experience. With her distinctive style that blends classical, jazz, world music, and Latin American influences, she is considered one of the defining voices in the current guitar scene. Alongside her are three outstanding artistic personalities: Alon Sariel, an internationally acclaimed mandolin and lute virtuoso; Alexander Lackner, a genre-crossing bassist and composer; and Sabine Hasicka, one of the most exciting representatives of contemporary tap dance. Together, they present a colorful program ranging from Bach to Piazzolla, from Carinthia to Latin America. Guitar, mandolin, theorbo, bass, vocals, and rhythmic tap dance merge into a vibrant soundscape that ranges from chamber music delicacy to explosive virtuosity.
