"Come, Let's Stand Still - Tour 2026" OK KID are back! After announcing their new album "Come, Let's Stand Still" for the end of May, they have now confirmed their long-awaited tour of the same name. Fans in Vienna can also look forward to an update of the band's unique mix of hybrid garage drums, shoegaze guitars, jungle influences, and intricate sample chops. Because live, OK KID remain an undeniable force in the German-speaking music scene.
In 2013, OK KID struck a chord with their debut album: their intelligent indie with rapped social criticism was quickly classified as extraordinarily relevant pop culture. After three top-ten albums and ten years of "full throttle" band life, Jonas Schubert, Raffael Kühle, and Moritz Rech announced a necessary indefinite break in spring 2024: no social media, no concerts, no releases. And this at a time when feeding the algorithm and attention seem to be the most important currencies – a daring undertaking from that perspective.
From today’s viewpoint: a blessing for the album that was created during their off-time. "Come, Let's Stand Still" is the fifth studio album and stands out from their previous work. The band also gives a sign of life: a guerrilla gig in February in their hometown Gießen, where they drop the news about the new album, reassures the community: OK KID are back.
"Come, Let's Stand Still" shows what can happen when musicians absorb political, social, and personal turmoil and transform it into musically artistic statements. OK KID accomplish this authentically – attitude has always been important to their music. However, they have rarely been heard so honestly, unfiltered, angry, and hurt.
The album is a search for security in a dystopian environment, and yet "Come, Let's Stand Still" does not aim to be the most important political pop album of recent years, but rather a counterpoint to easily digestible pop bites. Above all, the album is meant to be experienced live. How great that the trio is finally returning to the stage!
