Il Viaggio d’Amore – A Musical Journey of Love
Arianna Savall, soprano and harpist, daughter of the Catalan viola da gamba virtuoso Jordi Savall and soprano Montserrat Figueras, is one of the most influential representatives of historical performance practice of our time. As an artistic creator, she develops programs in which historical music, traditional songs, and her own compositions come together to form a vibrant, independent sound language. Together with Norwegian musician Petter Udland Johansen and her ensemble Hirundo Maris, she invites you on a musical journey that explores love in all its facets.
Il Viaggio d’Amore takes you through countries and centuries – from the Mediterranean to the Alps, into the Nordic expanses and to Chile, from the Renaissance to the present day. Delicate songs, passionate chants, and poetic instrumental pieces create a dense yet expansive musical arc, supported by triple harp, cittern, Hardanger fiddle, guitar, and fine percussion. An evening that celebrates love and takes the audience on a poetic journey through space and time.
