If one were to place the sound in the first bars in 1970s America, the Viennese character immediately throws a wrench in the works. We are talking about Ignaz Tschinön, the alter ego of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Matthias Nowak. While individual releases – in unmistakable do-it-yourself fashion – have already resonated in the Vienna scene, he has now brought in reinforcements to appropriately take the endeavor to the stage. Inspired by the patina of legendary bands from the golden age of funk, Tschinön presents an eight-member ensemble that leaves nothing to be desired.
