Bumblebees are among the most important pollinators in alpine regions and are well represented in the Salzburg Lungau with 26 different species. Half of the species occur above the tree line. Participants will learn the basics of bumblebee ecology and practice identifying the bumblebee species of the area under the microscope as well as in the field. The course is aimed at anyone interested in diving into the topic anew, as well as those who already have some prior knowledge. The course also offers a good opportunity for participants of the bumblebee monitoring program to expand their existing bumblebee expertise.
