Concert series with six concerts
This year, 18,000 Monster Friends children will perform between June 8 and 10, 2026, divided into six concerts.
Together with their families and friends, they will rock Hall D of the Vienna Stadthalle. This brings the largest children's concerts in the country to the biggest stage in the country.
A place where the magic of community is truly palpable! Of course, a show program featuring the groovy songs will also be part of the event.
However, the stars of the 75-minute concert are the children, who have been preparing for this big moment for an entire school year. Unique and an experience for the whole family – goosebumps guaranteed, with no dry eye in the house.

Who are the Monster Friends?
The Monster Friends are seven small, colorful monsters. They are named after the syllables of the musical scale – DO, RE, MI, FA, SOL, LA, and TI – and they love music. Each monster represents a note as well as a school subject.
The tone monsters love school and are adventurous. A total of 16 major adventures have been specially developed for classroom instruction. They bring a lot of joy to the classrooms. The highlight for the children each year is the concluding children's choir concerts.
Since 2015, the Monster Friends, developed by choir educator Michael Wagenthaler, have become an integral part of Vienna's school education. Thanks to the inclusive approach of the music educational project, a 100% social mix is achieved with a common goal: to empower children!
More than one in three children in Vienna's primary schools attends a Monster Friends class.
