Under the title "Awake!" Horst Pühringer has written a play that will have its world premiere this evening. At the center is the Protestant preacher Hans Kummerer, who is already mentioned in the Haibach parish chronicle from 1598. Around him, the peasants gather, eagerly plotting plans for rebellion in the tavern's guest room. The exploitation by the Bavarian occupiers is too severe, but above all, the harsh measures of the Counter-Reformation by the Habsburgs threaten the "true" faith.
