Shepherd George Hardy (Hugh Jackman) is a huge crime fan. Nothing he loves more than reading murder mystery stories to his sheep. In his wildest dreams, he has no idea that the animals not only understand him but also engage in intense discussions and puzzles after the reading session. When George is found dead in the meadow with a shovel in his back, it is clear to his sheep that a murder has taken place. Since the local village policeman Tim Derry (Nicholas Braun) has never solved a real crime, the woolly four-legged friends must use all their crime experience to find George's killer. Led by the clever sheep lady Miss Maple, the brave Othello, the anxious and gluttonous Mopple, the curious Maude, and the old ram Sir Ritchfield must realize that the world of humans is much more complicated in reality than in books. Moreover, the many residents of the village harbor some dark secrets.
