Saso Avsenik & his Oberkrainers

Countless melodies from the inexhaustible Avsenik treasure trove of songs have become evergreens of folk music. Leading the way is "Das Trompetenecho," one of the most frequently performed instrumental pieces in the German-speaking music scene for decades and the theme song of the legendary "Musikantenstadl." Other notable pieces include "Auf der Autobahn," "Es ist so schön, ein Musikant zu sein," "Slowenischer Bauerntanz," "Hinterm Hühnerstall," and many more. The musical triumph of the "Original Oberkrainer" lasted almost half a century. In the 1990s, the group withdrew from active stage performances.

However, the story of the Oberkrainer sound was far from over: Sašo Avsenik has been continuing the musical legacy for 15 years now, in a charming, authentic way, full of a sense of tradition! The exceptional musicality of the musicians and their joy in playing emphasize: "It is so beautiful to be a musician!"
