On this guided tour, you will learn about the history of Schussenried Abbey during the Baroque period, along with a brief introduction to the library hall (max. 15 minutes—without a detailed explanation of the ceiling frescoes).
The Baroque period began in Upper Swabia after the Thirty Years’ War, from whose consequences the Premonstratensian Abbey of Schussenried also had to laboriously recover. Through prudent financial management, as well as through the taxes paid by the subjects, the restoration of the monastery complex became possible. The complex still bears witness today to the splendor and rich knowledge of the canons of Schussenried Abbey.
**Cost:** €5.00 per person plus €2.00 for the library hall
