How far would you go to live your dream? The ambitious but unsuccessful actor Michael Dorsey is on the brink of the end of his career - he is considered complicated and stubborn in the industry. When no one wants to give him a role anymore, he resorts to a daring trick: he disguises himself as a woman, calls himself Dorothy Michaels - and overnight becomes the star of a new musical version of "Romeo and Juliet." But with success comes chaos. Between costume and corset, Michael loses himself in his dual role, while Dorothy captures the audience - and her colleagues - by storm. The source material, Sydney Pollack's legendary film from 1982, earned Dustin Hoffman one of his greatest roles and Jessica Lange the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. The musical adaptation by David Yazbek ("The Band’s Visit") and Robert Horn celebrated triumphant success on Broadway in 2019, winning several Tony Awards - including for Best Book of a Musical - and delighted audiences and critics alike with humor, heart, and sharp observation. A musical full of transformation, wit, and authenticity - and the story of a man who becomes a better person because he is a woman.
