Pop-Up Choir Experience: Open-Air Event Under the Motto:
“Sing Your Heart Out for the Soul” with Patrick Bopp
On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the Kulturhaus Schwanen Waiblingen invites you to an open-air edition of “Singing for Everyone” on Schwanen Island. The event begins at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. The PopUp Choir Experience, themed “Singing from the Heart for the Soul,” is led by Patrick Bopp and is open to anyone who wants to sing together—with or without choir experience. The event takes place outdoors; in case of thunderstorms or heavy rain, it will be moved to the Schwanensaal.
Singen für Alle is not a choir evening in the traditional sense. It’s not about perfection, auditions, or fixed vocal ranges, but about the experience of singing together. People with extensive singing experience meet here with people who otherwise only sing in the car, in the kitchen, or not at all. That is precisely the appeal of this format: it creates an open space where voices come together, inhibitions fade, and many individuals form a singing community for one evening.
The evening is led by Patrick Bopp, who, with “Aus voller Kehle für die Seele,” has been demonstrating for years just how direct, easy, and unifying singing together can be. We’ll sing songs by, with, and about people for people—spanning styles and decades, from pop and rock to songs that many have long carried somewhere in their minds. No knowledge of music notation is required, nor are song sheets: the lyrics will be projected, we’ll warm up together, and then we’ll get started.
The open-air edition on Schwaneninsel features a relaxed setting with primarily standing room. A limited number of seats are reserved for people who cannot or do not wish to stand for long periods. The Schwanen Open Airs offer free seating and no admission checks. The principle is personal responsibility: Anyone who wants to attend buys a ticket in advance or at the box office and becomes part of an evening that focuses less on separation and more on participation, singing along, and shared experiences.
