"Satire can do anything. Except die!" "When satire dies, humanity has only four years left to live," said Albert Einstein, holding a coffee in one hand and talking to his cat. "But if – to paraphrase Tucholsky – satire can do anything," purred the cat, "then it can also die." "I will make sure that doesn’t happen, as surely as I am a bearer of the German Small Arts Prize," exclaimed Friedemann Weise, who was dreaming this scene in a regional express train on his way to a performance in Dingsbums. Finally, he knew what to call his fifth solo program: "Satire is looking for a home."

An awkward play on words – just good enough not to stand out in the local small arts scene, but above all, bad enough to put a smile on Friedemann Weise's own face. The Cologne-based author, satirist, and music comedian is now set to show satire in two times 50 minutes why it is worth living. As difficult as this endeavor may be, together with his guitar, a screen, and his human mini-clone Friedemännchen, he will succeed. And you can watch him do it!

Friedemann Weise is an award-winning cabaret artist and has been a permanent member of the "heute-show" ensemble since 2019. His radio comedy "History up close" has been airing weekly on WDR2 since 2021. His mini audio plays can also be heard in almost every episode of Germany's most successful radio satire show "Satire deluxe" on WDR5. As a writer, he has contributed to the "heute-show," "extra3," the "Titanic" magazine, and "KROYMANN," among others. Friedemann Weise has a photo column in the Cologne "Stadtrevue" and averages 11,000 steps a day; many of those on stages across the country, which he performs on year-round.
