MSc. Kathrin Heissenberger, wildlife biologist and managing director of the Owl and Bird of Prey Protection Association, which is responsible for species conservation projects (bearded vulture breeding and northern hawk owl reintroductions) at the Owl and Bird of Prey Station Haringsee.

Description:
We take advantage of the calm morning hours (before official visitor times) to try to identify who is singing among us based on various bird songs. Wildlife biologist Kathrin Heissenberger accompanies us with her expertise and provides tips to make it easier to recognize the different bird calls.

Strengthened by a hearty plant-based breakfast, Sigrid Frey, managing director of the Owl and Bird of Prey Station Haringsee, takes us into her exciting daily work. In the rescue and rehabilitation center for injured and orphaned wildlife, focusing on owls and birds of prey at the gates of Vienna, there are no quiet days. The goal on-site is to care for abandoned or confiscated young animals and wildlife patients so that they can be released back into nature whenever possible.
