MAYBEBOP - Beautiful Appearance

They've done it again: MAYBEBOP presents their fifth Christmas show, "Schöner Schein." It's amazing what the four of them can still bring to the festival of festivals, and how fresh and vibrant they remain on stage even after over 20 years as a band!

With "Schöner Schein," alongside newly interpreted classics like "Carol of the Bells," "Die Nacht ist vorgedrungen," and the lively "Heidschi Bumbeidschi," many of their own German songs offer new perspectives on the holy night: The tragicomic tango "Der Tod des Weihnachtsmannes" and the touching "Was ich besaß" address the belief in the man with the beard in very different ways, while the energetic folk-rock "Die Ballade vom Fanta-Klaus" tells of a surprising encounter with him. The pointed "Weihnachtsträumereien" looks behind the facade of some Christmas idylls, and "Immergrün," sung from the perspective of a fir tree, is a must-have piece in any standard dance class. The undeniable highlight is clearly the German rap parody "KNG of LightZ," which clarifies who has the house with the highest bling-bling factor: brilliantly funny and stylistically on point.

The vocal band once again underscores their exceptional status: the Christmas program "Schöner Schein" is bursting with ideas, equally virtuosic and down-to-earth, and surprises live with their usual stylishly executed light and sound show, complemented by a smart and charming video performance.
