Third Sex – 1930s Trans* Songs

The young American composer Adam J. Rineer has translated texts from the German magazine "Das 3. Geschlecht" from the early 1930s, which primarily focused on trans* individuals, and set them to music with great creativity. We will be presenting this complete musical work, a punk musical song cycle, for the first time with the German (original) texts. The adaptation of these texts for the German version comes from AMY and Swiss musical star Patric Scott, who will also direct and stage the production and will be present at the premiere. The program will be presented by two German musical performers who are themselves trans* individuals: the powerful AMY, who has appeared on stage in many musicals from "Cabaret" to "Rocky Horror Show" and has toured through German federal states in recent years with "Hedwig and the Angry Inch." Alongside her will be Elias Heiligendorff, a young musical colleague from Hamburg, who is currently performing as the musical "Peer Gynt" at the Opera Workshop on the Rhine.
