Mushroom collecting & identification Lustbühel

During our educational hike with Dr. Uwe Kozina from the Working Group on Native Fungi at the Universalmuseum Joanneum in Graz, the mushrooms collected by the participants will be discussed in a seminar room at Schloss Lustbühel. We will learn interesting facts about edible mushrooms and their toxic look-alikes. The importance of fungi in the ecosystem, as well as topics such as radioactivity and heavy metals in mushrooms, will also be addressed. Possible uses of the collected fruiting bodies in the kitchen will also be presented.

Please bring:
- A basket or similar container
- A pocket knife
- A magnifying glass (if available)
- Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear
- No plastic bags

Important notes:
- Dogs are not allowed.
- Cash payment on site is not possible.
- In case of bad weather, the forest school may cancel for safety reasons.
