To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of their groundbreaking debut album, the legendary alternative rock band Placebo announces "Placebo RE:CREATED" – a powerful new reimagining of the album that first brought them worldwide recognition in 1996. The album will be released on June 19, 2026, via Elevator Lady Ltd through AWAL.

When the original album was released at the height of the Britpop era, Placebo stood in stark contrast to the prevailing cultural mood of the time. While much of the British guitar music of that era was characterized by "lad culture," nostalgia, and national identity, Placebo's debut offered something distinctly more provocative and confrontational. The songs addressed themes of sexuality, androgyny, addiction, and alienation – with a honesty rarely heard in mainstream rock at the time – establishing the band as one of the most distinctive voices of their generation.

Thirty years later, Placebo returns to this landmark album with "Placebo RE:CREATED," offering a new perspective. The new release features reworked and expanded versions of all ten tracks from the original album, as well as two bonus tracks from that release. It captures how these songs have evolved over decades of live performance, without losing the raw spirit that once defined them. Among the tracks are the groundbreaking singles "Nancy Boy" and "36 Degrees," songs that played a crucial role in solidifying Placebo's reputation for fearless lyrics and genre-defying sound. The new recordings amplify the urgency and attitude that made the originals so compelling, while also reflecting the growth and experience the band has gained since their debut.
