Guided hike in the Hohe Tauern National Park: Prossau

The tour begins at the former Hotel "Grüner Baum." After a few meters, the road is left behind – it transitions into a wide, easily walkable alpine path. The ranger shares insights about the unique features of the valley and the Hohe Tauern National Park along the way. Additionally, you will learn what once made the Gastein Valley prosperous, why it has always been at the center of attention, and how tourism and the national park can complement each other here.

Upon reaching the Alpenhaus Prossau, a short detour towards the Tischlerkar Waterfalls can be made. The return is via the same path.
Walking time: approximately 4 hours, 350 meters of ascent, 350 meters of descent
Total duration of the tour: 5 hours
Meeting point: The tour starts from the bus stop Grüner Baum (Bus Line #555).
Equipment: Sports or light trekking shoes, rain and sun protection, suitable clothing and a change of clothes, backpack with drinks and snacks.
Due to consideration for other participants and local wildlife, bringing dogs is not permitted during excursions.

Price without Gastein Card: €22.00. Children and teenagers (7–16 years) are free when accompanied by their parents.

Registration: Registration is possible up to 3 hours before the tour begins at: www.npht.at/touren. Our ranger will wait for the bus and then start promptly.
