Igor Stravinsky and Jean Sibelius, despite their differences, shared a common fascination for the archaic, the mythical, and nature. Jean Sibelius' symphonic poem *Pohjolas Tochter* presents an impressively vivid scene between natural forces and tragic grandeur – richly orchestrated, dramatic, yet always imbued with inner calm. His legendary Violin Concerto in D minor combines deep emotion with virtuosic brilliance and demands the highest technical precision. The challenging solo part will be performed by the young Brazilian violinist Guido Sant'Anna, who won the international Fritz Kreisler Competition in 2022. With Igor Stravinsky's *Le sacre du printemps*, modernity takes the stage in its most radical form. Stravinsky shattered traditional forms, allowing rhythmic layers and sonic extremes to collide – creating a ballet of shocking force and archaic power that caused a genuine scandal at its premiere in Paris in 1913. This program will be conducted by Eva Ollikainen, chief conductor and artistic director of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, who is recognized as one of the leading conductors of our time due to her inspiring musicality.
