Cremation then and now

The new permanent exhibition in the historic crematorium was created in collaboration with curator Georg Wilbertz and designer Hans Kropshofer. The LINZ AG CEMETERIES present an exhibition that showcases the development of cremation, its various positions and protagonists, and makes it tangible within the context of Linz and Upper Austria. The significance and current form of cremation are also illustrated. The historic crematorium building, designed by Julius Schulte, whose artistic significance may not yet be widely known, becomes an important exhibit in its own right.
