Average & Kayo

Average and Kayo, two established figures in the Austrian rap scene, are joining forces for the first time in 2026 to release a collaborative album that is already being touted as one of the most exciting projects of the year. Linz-based Average has established himself as a defining voice in local hip-hop with his mixtapes, EPs, and numerous collaborations. Kayo has been a central figure in the scene since the 1990s—both as a solo artist and as a member of Markante Handlungen—and has played a significant role in its development and growth. Both are also part of the TTR Allstars collective.

Together, they are creating an album that oscillates between classic boom-bap and contemporary productions. With the support of a who's who in the scene, a versatile work is taking shape that appeals to die-hard hip-hop fans as well as listeners of current trends. Thematically, the release navigates between personal stories and sharp battle rap.
