GWÖLB Live: Two Weinviertlers.

When two people from the Weinviertel meet, everything usually falls into place. Comfort, humor, and storytelling are just a few ingredients of such an evening. Born and raised in the Weinviertel, the gifted observer and storyteller Jimmy Schlager shines with wonderfully authentic songs and witty interludes. His language expresses things candidly, yet always with ease and humor. Autobiographical elements, keen observations, or at least well-crafted fabrications are uniquely transformed into song lyrics that are authentic at every point and at all times!

He is accompanied, as usual, by one of his virtuoso musician colleagues, who creates the finest acoustic sound, providing the musical foundation on which the images and stories can fully unfold their impact. Markus Hackl tells with a poetry that knows how to hit the nail on the head. With appropriate acoustic instrumentation and finely observed stories from everyday life that happen everywhere and at any time, or at least could happen.

Markus Hackl's lyrics resonate simply, and the Weinviertler does not shy away from sensitive topics, such as xenophobia. Together with the music, they create intense statements, sometimes personal, sometimes socially critical, and with catchy melodies. Together, the two will share their stories and describe the land and people of the Weinviertel.
