From the Source to the Bath – Thermal Water Distribution System of Bad Gastein

The thermal water distribution system of Bad Gastein is a site-specific infrastructure that has been in continuous operation since 1922 and 1926, respectively. It serves to distribute thermal water from the thermal springs to the baths in hotels and spa facilities. Compared to other spa towns, the use of thermal water is not limited to a specific area, but allows for a fair distribution of thermal water throughout Bad Gastein. The project has significantly contributed to the formation of the morphological shape of present-day Bad Gastein.

During a walk with Maximilian Greinwald, the path of the healing water will be demonstrated, the constructive and technical features of the pipeline network will be explained, and historical aspects of the spa town's history will be added. The walk begins with a visit to the Elisabeth spring and leads to the collection point for thermal water and the pumping station. After that, it proceeds to the elevated tank Helenenburg and then to the Villa Excelsior, where the filling of a thermal bath is demonstrated as an example.

To conclude, hotelier Christof Erharter invites everyone to join in a trial bath in the thermal bathing area of the hotel.
