Sixteen years ago, a special concert concept created great enthusiasm among fans of In Extremo. Under the title "Tranquilo," the band presented their songs for the first time in unusually calm, acoustic arrangements, showcasing a completely different side of their artistry. The response was overwhelming, and since then, many followers have wished for a continuation of this extraordinary format.
Now, the time has finally come. With "Tranquilo II," In Extremo are once again going on an acoustic tour. Sixteen years after the first chapter, much has happened. New albums have been released, numerous songs have found their way into the repertoire, and many of them are practically begging to be brought to life in a new, acoustic guise.
The band's decision to take this step perfectly aligns with their self-understanding. In Extremo have always been known for their experimental spirit and have built a reputation for consistently surprising their fans with unusual concert ideas and unique venues. From their early days at medieval markets to large festival and arena shows around the globe, they have repeatedly proven that they view musical boundaries not as limitations, but as invitations.
"Tranquilo II" continues this tradition consistently. The tour will deliberately take place in selected, particularly atmospheric venues, including some of the most beautiful concert halls in the German-speaking world. Instead of large stages and pyrotechnic spectacles, this time the focus will be on atmosphere, intimacy, and musical nuances.
The audience can look forward to very special, intimate evenings. In Extremo will present their classics as well as rarely played gems in acoustic form, along with surprising reinterpretations of their hits and anthems. Familiar melodies will suddenly appear in a new light, sometimes reduced and touching, other times playful and surprising.
For this tour, In Extremo have also come up with a special surprise. The band will be supported by high-profile guests and outstanding musicians: Oliver Satyr and Niel Mitra from Faun, as well as violinist Justin Ciuche, who will enrich the "Tranquilo" concept with additional colors and musical virtuosity. Faun are among the leading bands worldwide for blending ancient sound worlds with modern music and have set international standards in this genre with numerous successful albums and hundreds of concerts.
With their unmistakable sound, combining modern rock and centuries-old musical influences, In Extremo have created their own genre and developed into perhaps the most well-known and successful medieval rock band in the world. For three turbulent decades, the band has captivated a global audience of millions. Seven of their albums have been awarded precious metal status, four of which reached number one on the German album charts.
Yet, no matter how large the stages have become, one thought has always been at the center for In Extremo: the shared celebration of music, camaraderie, and community. This is precisely the feeling the musicians want to make experienceable in a new, intimate way with "Tranquilo II."
For fans of the band and for anyone who wants to discover their music from a completely new perspective, this tour will be a very special experience. "Tranquilo II" is a must for every In Extremo fan.
