Harp in the Dark in the Temple of Night

After the successful concerts in recent years and the enthusiastic feedback from concert-goers about the Harp-in-the-Dark performances, Eva-Maria Wallisch will give another concert in the legendary Temple of Night! She will be joined by her congenial duo partner Elisabeth Poglitsch on the second harp for some pieces. Experiencing a two-voiced harp duo in the mystical Freemason temple in darkness under a summer starry sky is a truly special privilege!

As the name suggests, alongside the sound of the harp, darkness is the second essential element of HARP IN THE DARK. Once the lights are extinguished, a gentle calm immediately envelops the audience. As a listener, you become invisible to others, and they become invisible to you. Only the hands of the harpist, illuminated by a single light source, and the resulting play of shadows provide mysterious visual stimuli. As the darkness of the room is filled with the enchantingly diverse sounds of the harp, listeners are elevated to a completely different and more authentic level of listening: you feel the music. Minimalistic to richly textured compositions from the Renaissance to modern times create a moodily mystical atmosphere, which, enhanced by the acoustics of the round temple space, establishes a unique connection between music and space. The vastness and dimensions of the room can now only be sensed.
