Maypole raising

Hans-Kappacher-Straße, 5600 St. Johann im Pongau
Every year on May 1st, the rural youth of St. Johann erects the traditional Maypole. According to tradition, the pole is raised manually and without mechanical assistance by the members of the rural youth and volunteer helpers. Food and drinks will be provided. There will be a performance and the final stop of the taps ceremony by the town band. The event takes place in any weather!
