The collaboration of the Vienna Virtuosos Klemens Lendl and David Müller with the Velvet Elevator Orchestra is among the finest offerings the city has. The 16-member retro film orchestra Velvet Elevator was founded in 2005 by Heinz Fallmann and Martin Ptak to bring the wonderful melodies and sophisticated arrangements of TV and film soundtracks from the 1960s to the 1980s to the stage live. Together with the Strottern, the orchestra embarks on a quest for Viennese songs and chansons "in grand format," as they were created primarily in the legendary Austrophon Studio at the Vienna Concert Hall during the 1970s and 1980s.
A musical city tour through Vienna: Familiar, updated, new works by gentlemen Leopoldi, Heller, Qualtinger, Sowinetz, Conrads – and the Strottern. Alternating in the usual manner between original and newly conceived, fragile and opulent. It's going to be beautiful again!
