Rubey & Schwarz - LOVE

Simon loves it supersonic,
With drums, lightning, and thunderclaps.
He has chili for breakfast, pure and raw,
And says clearly, logically, anyway!
Simon loves the now, right away!
Best here, but most of all there.
He yawns while sprinting, dreams while running,
And gets up before the alarm starts buzzing.
Simon loves the pace a lot,
But he loves Manuel even more.
Manuel loves quiet laughter,
Thoughtful, well-planned things.
He irons shirts with a system,
And doesn’t find that extreme at all.
He loves notes, finely sorted,
Has even archived chance.
He loves a book with a dog-eared page,
And reads the blurb beforehand.
Manuel loves all of this very much,
But he loves his Simon even more.
Love and democracy are in crisis.
Simon Schwarz and Manuel Rubey won’t change that.
Nevertheless, they have set themselves the goal
Of understanding love again as a verb.
Starting in January 2027,
They will present their second joint stage program.
Wild melodies and big feelings meet
Small everyday disasters,
Yet always lead back to the question
Of how we can manage to choose love again and again, despite everything.
