40. Paul Hofhaimer Days | Musical Journey Through the History of the Harp

A musical journey through the history of the harp is the focus of this concert as part of the 40th Paul Hofhaimer Days. Arianna Savall (soprano, historical harps) and Petter Udland Johansen (tenor, fiddle, baroque violin, among others) dedicate themselves to the tonal diversity of this traditional instrument. The harp is one of the oldest instruments in humanity and has always been closely linked to mythology, spirituality, and healing arts. The concert spans a range from medieval sounds to Baroque music, connecting works, dances, and improvisations from various regions of Europe. Under the title "The Labyrinth of Ariadne," a musical journey unfolds through different epochs and sound worlds—carried by the special expressiveness of historical harps.
