New Year's Concert 2027 - Brucknerhaus / Grand Hall

Markus Poschner and the Bruckner Orchestra Linz will open the grand Beethoven Year 2027 in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's death with the crowning conclusion of his symphonic work: the 9th Symphony in D minor, which is regarded as both the pinnacle of Classicism and a gateway to Romanticism—not only due to the revolutionary incorporation of choir and solo voices. Alongside the Hard Choir and the Linz Jeunesse Choir, four outstanding soloists will take the stage in the Great Hall of the Brucknerhaus Linz: Susanne Bernhard, Katrin Wundsam, Sebastian Kohlhepp, and Rafael Fingerlos. The New Year's Concert and its repeat on January 2 are part of the Beethoven Cycle by the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and Brucknerhaus Linz, which began with the 7th Symphony as part of the Bruckner Festival 2025 and will conclude on May 2, 2027, with a Sunday matinee featuring Symphonies No. 2 and 4.
