Graz Tells: Art Installation

Graz Tells 2026 brings a sound and light installation to Mariahilferplatz in the center of Graz! Styria experiences voices and projections that make everyday life and memories tangible through sound images. From May 6 to 25, 2026, acoustic spaces will open up, reflecting conversations, poems, and sounds from the city. Memories blend with the sound of the present, bringing small narrative fragments to life, turning Mariahilferplatz into a place of conversation and perception in the vibrant city. Special attention is given to the transformation of everyday traces into artistic sounds and colors in the space. Stories from many neighborhoods of the city come together here, opening a space for new thoughts in Graz of today and yesteryear. The artistic direction has selected locations that often go unnoticed in daily life but have much to tell. In quiet moments, sounds, texts, and excerpts from conversations that otherwise fade into the background of everyday life emerge. The artistic diversity of this project showcases the vibrancy and depth of urban narrative layers.
