Hoher Kalmberg with the Alpine Club Mondsee

The tour leads from Bad Goisern (Ramsau parking lot) along a steep forest path to the Tiefen Scharte. Following a partly rocky trail, we continue over the Brenntenkogel to the Niederen Kalmberg. Impressed by the Dachstein panorama, we descend a short distance where the final longer ascent to Hoch-Kalmberg awaits. From the summit of Hoch-Kalmberg (1833 m), we can already see the Goiserer Hütte in the distance, which will be our next stop. The further descent takes us via Schartenalm and Trockentannalm back to the starting point.

Ascent: approx. 4 hours (Ramsau parking lot - Tiefen Scharte - Niederen Kalmberg - Hoch-Kalmberg)
Descent: approx. 3 hours (Hoch-Kalmberg - Goiserer Hütte - Ramsau parking lot)
Total: approx. 1400 m elevation gain

Only in good and safe weather conditions! Participation only with registration!

Requirements: Good physical condition for a day tour with 1400 m elevation gain. A few spots where hands and feet need to be used. The pace will be set so that everyone can keep up. New members/hikers are very welcome. AV membership required.

Equipment: Mountain gear for a day tour: sturdy hiking boots, sun and rain protection, food and drink (refreshments only available towards the end of the tour at Goiserer Hütte).
