The artist Christina Reichsthaler, who lives in Micheldorf, has developed the technique of "seismography" through years of engagement, which makes visible the movements that affect her from the environment. Two vividly colored triptychs on the first floor are in a tension relationship with the black-and-white graphics of Kurt Schiffel. He deals with his themes in longer series, abstracting and reducing; only a few lines describe the architecture, the rose vine, the figure – in between and all around, he leaves space for the stories that can unfold around the images. This tension continues on the second floor with additional works.
Two solo exhibitions that unite
A lemniskate is a looped figure in the shape of a sideways eight. Lemniskates are to be understood as two solo exhibitions that come together. LEMNISKATE #09 is the 27th exhibition in the 5-year history of the Rathausgalerie Steyr, curated by Johannes Angerbauer.
The exhibition can be seen free of charge until June 12 in the corridors of the first and second floors of the Steyr Town Hall.
